In the sixth conference game of the year the Mustangs (6-0) beat the Peninsula Panthers (2-4) yet again 3-0. With starting outside junior Roy McFarland still out with a shoulder injury, Costa still swept Peninsula.
The Mustangs won the first set 25-18 and 25-21 in the second. Costa dominated all aspects of the game continuing their dominance. In the last game, the Mustangs won yet again, 25-18. Opposite junior Jackson Wedbush had eight kills and two aces.
“We did a great job not allowing them back into the game,” Wedbush said. “We dominated them and made sure they had no chance of coming back.”
The Mustangs next game will be on Tuesday at home against Inglewood. Having already beat the Sentinels (0-6) earlier in the season, 3-0, the Mustangs hope to continue their untouched record in league.
“I’m confident about the next game,” junior libero Sam Jones said. “We just have to play the way we have been lately and if we do, we will have no problem beating them.”
