Girls lacrosse was able to pull off the win against Palos Verdes on Tuesday with the help of junior midfielder Ruby Caldwell’s 3 goals. The 7:00 home game was the team’s senior night and the final score was 10-8.
From the start, the girls (8-7) did well on transitions from defense to offense and Caldwell consistently won the 50/50 balls. Despite some defensive breakdowns in the second half, Costa was able to hold on to their lead and get the results.
“It was a great game to honor the seniors because we were able to beat PV who is a tough team and a very close rival of ours,” Caldwell said.
Girls lacrosse will play their final season game against Redondo Union High School who is currently in 1st place in Bay League. The game will be at 4:00 at home on Friday.
“The Redondo game will be really challenging and we are going to play our hardest,” sophomore defender Kay Schickler said. “We’re going to go out there and leave it all on the field.”
