Girls lacrosse loses to Redondo in final Bay League match

For their final Bay League game of the season, girls lacrosse took on Redondo on Friday at 4:00 in an away game. The goals scored by sophomore attack Kelli Mark were not enough as Costa was defeated with a final score of 8-18.

Throughout the game, the girls struggled with transitions and completing their passes quickly enough. Although Costa was able to create some scoring opportunities for Mark and other attacks, Redondo still kept the majority of the possession.

“We could have improved by having better transitions from defense to offense and by throwing faster,” Mark said. “Despite this, we didn’t give up and continued competing and trying to score throughout the entire game.”

Girls lacrosse got second place in Bay League. They advanced to CIF and will play El Segundo High School on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. game at Redondo Union High School.

“In CIF, we will take each game one step at a time,” Mark said. “Our preparation will be varied based on the specifics of the team who we are facing.”
