The boys volleyball team lost Thursday’s away non-conference match against Huntington Beach by a score of 3-0. The teams went back and forth but lost 25-21. In the following game the team had trouble stopping senior opposite TJ Defalco losing 25-16.
In third and final game, the Mustangs could not get into a rhythm unable to convert. They lost 25-13 having trouble stopping both kids on the national team.
“Today was the wrong night to have an off game,” junior libero Sam Jones. “We needed to stay more consistent instead of our short sporadic points.”
The Mustangs, now ranked seventh in the nation, move on the California Interscholastic Federation. The next game is on Tuesday and their opponent is expected to be determined to win.
“After coming off a loss that that, we really need to step up for CIF,” junior Jackson Wedbush said. “We just have to learn from our mistakes and keep playing hard.”
