Mira Costa’s Associated Student Body hosted the 2015 Prom “Fly Me to the Moon” on June 6 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.

Approximately 1,000 students attended prom. At the prom, attendees voted nominees for king and queen from the prom court. Junior class president Hanna Watkins, junior class vice president Rachel Kay and secretary and treasurer Molly Dvorkin planned the event.

“Prom was an amazing experience,” Dvorkin said. “I feel so grateful that I was involved with making it as successful as it was. I had so much fun planning prom with the other planners, and the final product was so much greater than anything I could have ever imagined.”

The senior prom court consisted of Erin Clifford, Justin Frankel, Risha Rohera, Rhein Matlack, Scott Miketa, Phina Leilua, Juwan Johnson, London White, Jorge Iniguez, Lauren Gulland and Pascal Au. Attendees voted Rohera for queen, Miketa for king and juniors Shubhayu Bhattacharyay and Nickole Garlitos for duke and duchess, respectively.

“I’m so honored that students voted me as prom queen,” Rohera said. “Scott Miketa is such an awesome person, and I am so excited that he was crowned prom king.”
