The Mira Costa girls volleyball team triumphantly defeated the Palos Verdes Sea Kings in five games in the first Bay League game of the season. The Mustangs visited the host Sea Kings to play Oct. 5.
The Mustangs managed to pull through and rough it out for four games, which had scores of 22-25, 25-12, 22-25, and 25-19. The outcome of the match was decided in its final moments, when Costa scored the final point in the fifth game, winning with score of 16-14. Costa’s seniors, particularly Emma White, helped the team capture its first Bay League victory.
The Mustangs will travel to West High School in Torrance Oct. 12 for their second Bay League game of the season. The Mustangs hope to improve their 6-5 season record and 1-0 Bay League record.
