Mira Costa High School rising senior Emily Espinosa has been missing for three weeks since her July 22 disappearance after her Costa summer school class.
According to Manhattan Beach Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Michael Matthews, the public last saw Espinosa walking towards the corner of Herrin Avenue and Curtis Avenue in Manhattan Beach.
“We continue to communicate regularly with Emily’s mother and she believes that she may be with a male acquaintance, but so far, there is no sign of Emily,” Matthews said. “I remain extremely hopeful, and we will send out any updates of any information that we receive.”
Espinosa has brown eyes and short brown hair. She is 5’8” and 112 pounds. Redondo Beach Police Department Detectives Jenna Wolfinger and Mark Velez are leading the investigation of the case. Anyone who has information regarding Espinosa’s status or whereabouts should call RBPD at (310)-379-2477.
“We, as a school district, have been cooperating with both the RBPD and MBPD when asked,” Costa Principal Dr. Ben Dale said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and we hope for Emily’s speedy return.”
