The Mustangs kept the lead throughout the whole match with full focus for a win and eventually beat SAMOHI by 51 strokes. Sophomore Phoebe Gunn played very well and contributed greatly to the win against Santa Monica.
“Together we all worked as a team to beat SAMOHI,” said Gunn. “The girls really stepped it up today and helped Varsity get a win.”
The Mustangs play their next match on Tuesday against Torrance at Chester Washington golf course. After their win today against SAMOHI, Costa hopes to beat Torrance.
“I believe we will win if we continue to play our game,” junior Lauren Nielsen said. “I am looking forward having a competitive match against Torrance.”
