Mira Costa’s girls golf team defeated the Torrance Tartars Tuesday at the Chester Washington golf course, 192-230, in its fourth game of the season and third non-league game, improving its overall record to 4-0.
According to coach Tom Cox, juniors Lexi Nielsen, Andrea Lee, and Marni Murez were all top performers that helped lead the team to a victory against the Tartars, and Nielsen said the game preparation will be a key to the team’s success.
“At practice, we will work on our weak points from yesterday’s match in preparation for the upcoming matches,” Nielsen said.
After going undefeated last year, the girls hope to remain undefeated as it prepares for its next game against Torrance Thursday at Los Verdes golf course at 2:30 p.m.
“Since the match against Torrance was a success, I hope that we will come out on top for another win against Torrance on Thursday,” junior Briana Andrade said.
