On Saturday, the Mira Costa girls tennis team played in the Golden State tournament at Stanford University for the second day in a row. The Mustangs won both of their matches against St. Ignatius High School and Dana Hills High School.
Junior Maddie Geise played well during her game, winning 3-0 against a doubles team from Dana Hills. In two of her games she won by an impressive 6-2.
“Geise stood out as a strong player in today’s game, as she was undefeated on Saturday,” junior tennis player Jacky Soliman said. “She is one of the most dedicated players on our team.”
The team’s next game is against Dana Hills at Mira Costa on Wednesday at 3 p.m. So far this season, the Mustangs have a 6-1 record overall and remain undefeated in bay league, 3-0.
“Considering that we just defeated Dana Hills on Saturday, it will be exciting to see the outcome of our next match against them,” Geise said. “Our team will play as best we can so we can hopefully defeat them again.”
