All fans that attended the Taylor Swift concert at the Staples Center would have to agree that Taylor gave a performance of a lifetime. Taylor Swift kicked off her Los Angeles performance with a bang; enthralling parents and teenage girls alike.
Taylor engaged every audience member with her sparkling outfits and spirit. It felt as if she personally reached out to every attendee, through her inspirational speeches and energetic dance moves that created energy in the audience throughout the entire performance.
Since her first album release in 2006 under Big Machine Records, she has created five more as of 2015, the most recent being “1989”. She has won numerous awards such as the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and Best Country Song.
Swift’s current 1989 tour’s album has already outsold her past two albums combined. The “1989” album includes hits such as Blank Space, Shake It Off, and Bad Blood. The album also includes the single “Wildest Dreams” which has a music video that has received over 37 million views since it’s release in August.
During the two hour performance, Swift sported multiple flamboyant outfits. Her exotic style made the audience even more intrigued. All of the outfits were either jeweled or brightly colored, including a glow in the dark dress and a bejeweled crop top with short-shorts.
Throughout the performance, Swift made sudden pauses to chat with her audience, which made the performance more personal because it showed her genuine personality and how much she cares for her fans. She talked to the crowd as if they were her friends and provided advice on relationship troubles and personal struggles, breaking the barrier between performer and audience by opening up.
She moved with the dancers and broke a sweat numerous times, which showed her dedication and playful personality. Although her moves were often jumbled/uncoordinated, she put in effort and added some excitement which made the performance even more exciting.
Swift made the audience feel emerged in the performance by giving every audience member a bracelet which glowed in the dark. For every song, the glowing colors would change and flash at directed times in accordance with the music, which created unity amongst the crowd of 18,000 people.
Overall, with creative outfits, bold dancing, and engagement with the audience, Taylor Swift gave a thrilling performance. She exerted endless amounts of energy which hyped up the crowd. Because of this, the atmosphere was inviting and lively.
The Staples Center concerts went from August 21 till the 25. The 1989 concert kicked off in Japan in May and will come to a close in Australia in December.
