On Tuesday, the Mira Costa girls tennis team played its eighth non-Bay League match of the season and defeated the Santa Monica tennis team in a home game 15-3.
The top performer of the day was singles player junior Amy Gaal. She won all three of her games, winning two of them, 6-0. During her last game of the day, she hit the ball in the corner of the court, scoring a point, which ended the game 6-0.
“I was really happy with how well I played yesterday,” Gaal said. “The competition was very tough, and every player on the team was determined to win.”
The Mustangs’ next match is a Bay League match against Palos Verdes at Palos Verdes High School today. The Costa tennis team is currently 10-1 overall and is 3-0 in bay league.
“So far this season, our team has played extraordinarily well,” junior tennis player Lena Nagy said. “I believe we will play a sound match against Palos Verdes on Thursday.”
