The Mira Costa boys water polo team took on the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at Palos Verdes High School on Tuesday, in its second non-Bay League game this season, winning 14-5.
Senior attacker Jake Tolt and junior attacker Christian Thornton contributed to the overall effort against the Sea Kings by scoring three and four goals respectively.
“Christian played great and was able to concentrate very well during the game and made key plays when we needed them,” junior attacker Garrett Weatherly said.
The Mustangs will face off against the Peninsula Panthers,1-1, today in a home game. The Mustangs are now 1-1 overall.
“Both Thornton and Tolt played very well and were a big part of the success,” Coach Jon Reichardt said. “Thornton dislocated his finger but should be ready for the tournament on Saturday.”
