Boys beach volleyball swept Notre Dame High School and Palos Verdes High School for the second time this year at Dockweiler Beach on Saturday, improving its bay league record to 7-1.
Senior partners Roy Mcfarland and Jackson Wedbush defeated both teams by the widest margins out of all of Costa’s pairs. They beat Notre Dame 21-13 and 21-9 and beat Palos Verdes 21-13 and 21-9.
“I thought Jackson and I did a great job siding out all tournament,” Mcfarland said. “Against Notre Dame, we did a good job of generating points by serving tough and playing consistently throughout.”
On Saturday, the Mustangs will play their final few games of the season at Dockweiler Beach against their rival, Redondo. The Mustangs current overall record is 8-1.
“We have a tough closing weekend ahead of us,” Wedbush said. “Redondo is a very tough team. Even though they beat us last time, if we focus, and properly train throughout the week, we will come out on top this time.”
