The Mira Costa girls tennis team defeated Brentwood High School 15-3 at home yesterday in its ninth non-Bay League game this season.
Junior singles player Amy Gaal stood out in today’s match, since she won her first game of the day 6-2 and dominated during her last game, winning 6-0. Other top players included junior doubles players Katarina Draskovic and Isabella Draskovic, who won two of their games 6-0.
“I was really happy with how we played today as a team, and everyone played amazing games,” Gaal said.
The Mustangs’ next match is against Peninsula High School at Costa tomorrow. Costa’s tennis team is currently 4-0 in Bay League and is 12-1 overall.
“Peninsula is currently ranked number one, and they have been undefeated for the past three years,” junior tennis player Lena Nagy said. “It’s going to be a hard match to win, but our team is excellent, and I think we have a good chance at winning.”
