Girls golf crushes Palos Verdes 180-211

Mira Costa’s girls golf team easily crushed the Palos Verdes Sea Kings 180-211 on Thursday at Palos Verdes golf course in its fourth Bay League match of the season.

Senior Andrea Lee stood out, shooting a 33, two under in a par 35 course. Senior Marni Murez also stood out today by shooting a 36, one over par. The girls had an early lead and and kept the lead until the end of the game.

“We are happy to get the win today,” Lee said. “I personally was happy with my round and I know a lot of the other girls played well today.”

The Mustangs will play Redondo on Tuesday at Chester Washington golf course in their fifth match of the season. The girls are now 4-0 in Bay League and 13-3 overall in the season. According to Murez the girls hope to continue their winning streak by defeating the Seahawks.

“We are definitely ready to play Redondo,” Murez said. “They aren’t a strong team, so we know that we can still win even if we don’t play our best.”
