Mira Costa students gathered at Waller Stadium for the annual Homecoming pep rally after second period on Wed. to watch a relay race between the grades and the Homecoming Court’s dance routine .
The pep rally included a joint performance from junior varsity and varsity cheer, along with the dance team. Associated Student Body class officers also chose students who were deemed to be especially spirited to participate in a relay race.
“I was really excited to be part of the relay race,” sophomore Tessa Chan said. “I think it boosted Costa’s spirit and got Costa students excited for the upcoming homecoming game and dance.”
According to Homecoming Court member Hannah Watkins, the highlight of the pep rally was the annual Homecoming Court dance. Princes dressed in cheerleading uniforms and princesses wore football attire. The self-choreographed dance featured popular music such as “Worth It” by Fifth Harmony and current dance moves such as “The Whip”.
“I think our dance went great especially since we changed the entire ending last night,” Homecoming Court member Rachel Kay said. “It was honestly so fun despite all the stress because the Court bonded a ton.”
