Mira Costa’s girls volleyball team defeated Palos Verdes High School 3-0 in in its last home game of the season on Wednesday.
The Mustangs rallied hard to get a 25-12 win, with the same determination pushing them to win the second set 25-22. In the third set they fell behind, but fought back. Senior middle blocker Taylor Cottle scored the winning point, ending the third set 25-21, and match 3-0.
“We played a lot better this game than the last time we played Palos Verdes.” junior middle blocker Alexia Inman said. “We were a lot more controlled on our side, and we stayed focused.”
Costa will next play Peninsula in an away game on Thursday. The Mustangs’ current overall record is 21-4 and their Bay League record is 4-1. According to senior opposite Ashley Anselmo, the team is more prepared for this game than ever.
“We did a really great job today.” Anselmo said. “Our practice really showed in this game, and if we continue to work like this, we’ll be successful in our next game.”
