Mira Costa’s girls golf team defeated Redondo Union 193-239 on Thursday at Alondra golf course, with the help of top performer junior Ashley Kim in its last Bay League game of the season, finishing Bay League 6-0.
Kim led the team to a victory over Redondo by shooting a 36, and seniors Andrea Lee and Marni Murez contributed by shooting a 37 and 39. According to Lee, the team had a great final game against its rival.
“This was our final match of the year and my last high school match ever so I just went out, had fun and made the most of it,” Lee said.
The Mustangs are overall 13-0 and 6-0 in Bay League. The first team California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) game will be at the Los Serranos golf course on Nov. 2. According to Lee, the team will have a lot of confidence going into CIF.
“We are getting prepared for CIF,” Kim said. ‘We are determined to make it all the way to state this year and hope to remain undefeated for the second year in a row.”
