The Mustangs came out strong with the team being at full strength with wrestlers returning from their fall sports. Costa seniors, Niilo Niemo and Matt Savino came in first place in their weight classes. According to coach Jimmy Chaney, the team continues to perform well at every level.

“I’ve been most impressed by how some of our younger wrestlers are stepping it up, “ Chaney said. “Sophomore Jared Williams looks unstoppable, we also have two freshmen, Jacob and Tyler Gordon who wrestled with varsity and did outstanding.”

Costa’s next meet is at West Torrance where they will compete at against West Torrance High School on Saturday. Chaney says the team is doing well and he expects Costa to place highly in its next meet.

“I expect our seniors and juniors to do well like Niilo Niemi, Matt Savino, Chandler Cannon, and Brendan Brady,” Chaney said.
