Six protesters from Westboro Baptist Church protested for 30 minutes at Redondo Union High School today to show their disbelief against the Gay-Straight Alliance organization run by RUHS students.
RUHS students, staff, faculty and South Bay residents gathered at Redondo Union to counter-protest against the Church by holding up signs and wearing colorful attire. The South Bay community rallied together with approximatly 300 counter-protestors.
“Seeing such a large group of local people gather to support such a deserving cause was incredible,” Mira Costa sophomore Sydney Severo said. “The signs were beautiful and the acceptance that the teenagers of the South Bay have is awe inspiring.”
