Mira Costa wrestling traveled to John Glenn High School for a tournament against John Glenn High School, on Friday and Saturday. Costa brought seven wrestlers ,mainly sophomores, to the tournament to compete.
Sophomore wrestler Luca Mangirano managed to finish in fifth place in his weight class. According to coach Jimmy Chaney Mangirano managed to win despite being younger than the majority of the competition because he is able to
“Luca’s wrestling technique is very solid, so was is able to compete with wrestlers who are older and have more experience very well in this tournament,” Chaney said.
Costa’s next meet is a dual meet against Santa Monica High School at home on Thursday. According to Joe Gebele their last few practices preparing them for their next meet.
“We have been practicing hard for this meet, it is important for our team to get a good win at home and prepare ourselves for CIF,” Gebele said.
