Netflix originals are mostly great, and can save you from a trip to the crowded movie theaters, but The Ridiculous 6 is in no way great at all.
Racist jokes, awful portrayal of westerns, and no real consistency or momentum to the plot and film are just a few of the things that make The Ridiculous 6 so utterly terrible.
White Knife (Adam Sandler), an orphan raised by Native Americans, discovers that five outlaws are actually his half-brothers. Together, they set out to save their wayward father on a long and strange journey.
The main character, White Knife, is protagonized by Adam Sandler who does a very lackadaisical job. Sandler constantly just mopes around, and it just seems as if he doesn’t really want to be there. Since Sandler is the main character of the film, he strongly contributes to making it so boring.
Since the film is so focused on Sandlers character, his bad acting really makes it an undesirable movie not worth spending the time to watch. Although Sandler is not the only reason the film is so bad, he does contribute a good bit to this.
As The Ridiculous 6 is meant to make you laugh, it is understandable that it includes its fair share of ethnic based jokes. However this film takes these jokes much too far and could easily they could easily be found as offensive. The racism of this film is just too hard to forget about. From Sandlers terrible Native American accent, which comes and goes, to Schneider’s Hispanic caricature, this movie is just much to racist.
The Ridiculous 6 has an awful portrayal of westerners, and displays them completely wrong. It almost seems as if the people who made this movie just didn’t care enough to make them realistic at all.
The racism of this film is just too hard to forget about. From Sandlers terrible Native American accent, which comes and goes, to Schneider’s Hispanic caricature, this movie is just much to racist.
The Ridiculous 6 was intended to make you laugh, but it’s much more likely that this film will either offend or bore you before it does that. All in all it is good that this film is only on Netflix, but it’s just not worth the time to watch.
