Counselors have created a new program called Coffee with the Counselors, which is aimed to bring together a group of counselors and parents to discuss the daily activities that students partake in. The purpose of the meetings are to enlighten parents on some issues they may be unaware of at Mira Costa.
The first meeting was on February 5, and includes plans for a relaxing environment where parents and counselors can engage in casual and nonchalant conversation about school wide activities. Parents who attended the meeting discussed a multitude of topics and asked any questions they had.
“Coffee with the Counselors is another way for counselors to reach out to the community and have a casual conversation about what community members may have questions about,” counselor Sue Bertran said.
