Mira Costa’s girls beach volleyball team came in first place Saturday in its second IVBL regular season match of the year taking place at Dockweiler beach.
The Mustangs defeated Palos Verdes and the Palisades in order to take the top spot in the tournament. Costa cruised past its opponents, defeating the teams by point margins greater than ten. According to sophomore Tabitha Keever, Costa players use these regular season games to improve their skills.
“These early games are really for building confidence and getting practice for later in the season,” Keever said.
Costa, currently 3-0 in tournament play, will participate in its fourth tournament of the season Saturday at Dockweiler Beach. According to Keever, the team has a good chance of winning this tournament as well.
“This tournament shouldn’t be too much of a competition for our team,” Keever said. “I think we all expect to place well,”
