Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse lost to Oak Park in a non-conference game on Tuesday at Oak Park High School, with a top performance from sophomore midfielder Charlie Manley.
The Mustangs had difficulty keeping up with Oak Park’s offense throughout the game. Manley scores all of Costa’s six goals. According to senior captain Ally Keasler, the girls played cohesively but were ultimately outplayed due to Oak Park’s intense offense.
“We were unable to stop Oak Park but we played as a team until the end of the game,” Keasler said. “We didn’t allow the huge lead discourage us and played until the end of the game.”
The Mustangs, currently 4-5 overall, next play the Palisades at home on Friday at 4:30. According to senior captain Kayla Sugimoto, the team has room for improvement to help increase their number of wins going into bay league.
“Our next game is going to be our last non bay league game, so we need to work on flaws and get some momentum going,” Sugimoto said.
