Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse defeated Palisades 10-6 in a non-conference game on Friday at home, with top performances from sophomore Charley Manley and senior Kayla Knowles.
The Mustangs fought hard against the Dolphins and came out on top. Manley scored four goals and Knowles scored two along with senior captain Kayla Sugimoto scoring two goals. According to senior Sugimoto, the team played a tough game but came out on top.
“It was a hard fought game, our defense stopped the ball and our offense had a couple tough calls, but we came out on top,” Sugimoto said.
The Mustangs are currently 5-5 overall. The team’s next game is against El Segundo at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. According to senior captain Ally Keasler, the team has been working hard and showing improvement.
“We have been working on our weaknesses throughout practice,” Kaesler said. “We are optimistic that we will see improvement in the next game.”
