Mira Costa’s boys volleyball team lost 3-2 against Palos Verdes High School on Thursday. The Mustangs had tied it 2-2 but failed to execute big plays in the last set, losing 15-10.
The Mustangs were unable to consistently get kills and make blocks as the Sea Kings extended their lead. According to junior outside hitter Kevin Pinkerton, the team was unable to execute in key situations, which led to the loss.
“It was a tough game,” Pinkerton said. “They played really well and we didn’t execute when we needed to.”
Mira Costa is now 8-2 overall and 0-1 in Bay League. They next play Peninsula at home on Tuesday. According to junior libero Will Taylor, the team is looking to bounce back and earn a good win.
“We just need to get back on track,” Taylor said. “We know we are a good team, we just need to focus.”
