The Mustang’s defense played a strong first half and allowed Peninsula to only score five goals by the end of the half. The defense had great performances from senior captain Ally Keasler and senior Carly Gaspari.

The Mustangs defense came out to the second half less on top of their game and allowed the Panthers to score another 5 goals. Overall the Mustangs played well on both sides of the field allowing them to come out with a victory.

“During the second half we came out with less aggression, allowing Pen to close our lead ,” said Keasler. “But we were able to maintain control of the ball and stop Pen from catching up.”

The Mustangs are currently 7-5 overall. The team’s next game is against Redondo Union at Redondo on April 13. According to Sugimoto, has been working and improving to prepare for Bay League.
