Mira Costa’s softball team lost to Cypress at Cypress High School on Tuesday 11-1 and 14-1 in their first game and second games, respectively.
The team started off the first game strong, but unfortunately Cypress was able to score seven runs and the team was unable to recover. In the second game, Costa was able to score two runs in the beginning but again they were unable to hold Cypress for the rest of the game. According to senior Sabrina Enomoto, the team worked hard even though they were defeated.
“The team did a great job of keeping their energy up and persevering, even when we were losing,” Enomoto said.
Costa’s record is currently 4-7 overall. The Mustangs will play an away game against Temple City on April 9. According to Enomoto, the team needs to work on getting a consistent base hit before the next game.
“We need bring our bats and come swinging for the fences,” Enomoto said. “We will also definitely work on having each other’s backs on the field.”
