The beat never stops with Costa graduate Quinn Delbridge as he continues to further his passion for music.

Delbridge singing between the ages of eight and ten years old, but didn’t discover his lifelong passion for singing until a band camp during his freshman year of high school, where it was the first time he started to sing publicly.

“After camp, I knew that nothing was ever going to compare to the feeling I get when I work on music, and that’s what made me want to keep singing,” Delbridge said. “It was great because all we did was focus on music.”

Delbridge currently attends Nashville’s Belmont University as a music business major, where he is in the music business with an emphasis in production. He has taken audio production classes, learning digital workstations and different studio techniques, and copyright law and music business classes.

“Getting to be hands on with producing and doing what you love is what’s great about having a music business major,” Delbridge said.

Delbridge was inspired to write his own songs since he liked a girl that lived far away and created a love song. He now has 2 songs out called Super Sweet and Home, and a few in the works, but has a countless amount of songs in his journal that are ready to be worked on.

“Writing songs is my version of being able to talk out my feelings,” Delbridge said. “It’s even better when I sometimes get to relate to other people and hopefully touch other people by the way I feel.”

Delbridge usually writes and produces alone, but has recently started working with two backing guys, Danen Reed and Jonny Lutz, and a manager, Hannah Cintron. Delbridge said having backing guys and a manager takes a lot of pressure off of him when he’s performing live.

“I met Quinn about 6 months ago, and we’ve bounced ideas off of each other ever since,” Cintron said. “We have similar goals and dreams, and partnering with Quinn has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have been able to picture a lifelong partnership since day one.”

Delbridge looks up to ‘Honne’, an English producer duo that make the same kind of Indie Pop music as him. ‘Honne’ produces and writes music in a very similar way to Delbridge.

“Honne does Indie Pop with an electronic influence, and blur the lines of new style music and old school R&B,” Delbridge said. “Their music tugs on your heartstrings like crazy, and I could pick any song of theirs and feel a deep connection to it.”

Delbridge and Cintron have have uploaded two new songs; “Home” and “Super Sweet” are available to listen to on his Spotify. It took him one night to write the lyrics for Super Sweet and the beginning of one day for Home, but it took around two to three months to get each song fully finished.

“As a mom it’s your duty to backup your children,” Delbridge’s mother Shelley Delbridge said. “Thankfully, I love Quinn’s songs and style of music so that part is easy. It’s a tough industry, and we’re very proud of him.”

As for the future, Quinn Delbridge plans to keep writing and recording songs in the studio, and is starting to create his own brand. At some point in his life, Quinn Delbridge hopes to live in Australia and be an established artist.

“My main focus is portraying myself through my music and reaching people on an emotional level to feel what I do,” Delbridge said. But in the social media world and the way the music business is today, I think being a brand or having a good brand is necessary.”
