Mira Costa’s boys golf team defeated Beverly Hills High School 186-220 in a Ocean League match on Thursday at the Chester Washington Golf Course with a top performance by senior Nick Harry.
The team broke out to an early lead in the beginning of the match with several birdie and par shots. Later in the game, Costa continued to increase its lead and with a low score of 34 by Harry Costa defeated Beverly Hills. According to sophomore Jack Major, the team played extremely well.
“I am really proud with how the team played and I believe we keep on getting better and better,” Major said. “Everyone played to the best of their abilities and we played an excellent game.”
The Mustangs are currently 6-4 overall and is 2-0 in Ocean League. The team will face off against Culver City High School in a Ocean League match on April 12 at the Chester Washington Golf Course. According to Major, the team should do well in its next match.
“We keep on getting better and better as the season progresses and I believe that we will continue to improve, ” Major said.
