Mira Costa’s baseball team played a doubleheader against El Segundo High School away on Wednesday. The Mustangs won the first game 7-4 and the next one 8-6 with help from top performances from senior Trevor Franklin.
Franklin pitched seven strikeouts and zero walks and only allowed four hits and five runs the entire game. According to Franklin, it was a good couple of games where they could showcase their abilities against a good competition.
“The entire team was very happy with the way that we played,” Franklin said. “We all came out strong and kept the momentum throughout the game’s entirety.”
The Mustangs improve to 13-1 overall and have only one more game left before entering Bay League. They play its next game away on Wednesday against Palos Verdes High School in their first game of the Bay League. According to Franklin, the team has been playing really well with their group of guys and its been fantastic with some of their victories thus far.
“We are all looking forward to begin Bay League,” Franklin said. “It is always a tough challenge for us but if we continue to work hard and play as a family, we will be very successful.”
