With the Mustangs victory over Junipero Serra in the Boras Classic, the Mustangs, now 13-1 overall, moved up in the MaxPreps.com rankings to number one in high school baseball in the country in the medium school division. Senior pitcher Roland Houseman was voted Southern California Player of the Week after his performance in the tournament.

After winning the south division of the tournament, the Mustangs are set to face the former number one team in a few months, expected to be a game of the clash of the best. The Mustangs will enter Bay League in a week as the number one team in the nation.

With the unbelievable performance from Houseman, he was able to tally 5,343 votes for player of the week which was over a thousand more votes than the second place player got. All award winners will attend a Southern California awards night at the end of the season. According to Houseman, it means a lot to be given such an honorable award.

“I feel very accomplished to be given this award,” Houseman said. “Especially since we were able to get the entire community to place a vote for me so I was able to have a chance at this award.”
