Mira Costa girls swim defeated Peninsula in Thursday’s Bay League meet at Peninsula High School.The girls won 105-65 while the boys lost 72-98.
Freshman Riley Farrell placed first in the 200 Individual Medley, coming in at 2:14.70. Senior Ian Campbell, sophomore Andrew White, freshman Colin Le, and freshman Kai Bathurst came in at 3:23.02 in the 400 yard freestyle relay, winning in a satisfying eight second window. According to Bathurst, the Mustangs are having a lot of success, but they are still looking to improve some team aspects.
“All of the Costa teams did well, but the varsity guys could have done better in their events,” Bathurst said.
The girls are now 5-0 overall and 1-0 in Bay League, while the boys are 3-2 overall and 0-1 In Bay League. The next meet is a Bay League meet against Palos Verdes at home on Thursday at 3 p.m. According to freshman Alexandra Crisera, Costa will most likely do well due to their current momentum.
“People have been doing great so far this season,” Crisera said. “So, if that continues, then it will be a great meet to watch.”
