Mira Costa’s baseball team defeated Peninsula High School 8-2 at home on Wednesday. The Mustangs rallied on runs from senior Reese Alexiades.

Alexiades had two hits in four at bats with a run batted in, scored one of the Mustang’s
eight offensive runs while also being a major defensive contributor. According to Alexiades, the team really excelled on both sides of the ball.

“We played great today with great intensity,” Alexiades said. “We had some great pitchings today and we swung the bats really well the whole game.”

The Mustangs, now 16-3 overall and 2-1 in Bay League, will matchup against Peninsula High School again on Friday in an away game. According to Alexiades, as long as the team can keep their consistency, they will fall no short of succeeding in games to come.

“If we keep playing the way we are playing we have a great chance to win another Bay League title,” Alexiades said. “We gave a great group of guys and look to do big things the rest of the season.”
