The Mira Costa Marching Band participated in the Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids on Apr. 24 at Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach, where approximately 25 marching band members played songs at the 1.2 mile checkpoint of the route.

The Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids is an event that raises money to help families with seriously ill children. The event was organized by junior drum majors Emily Chase and Adrian Yu.

“The walk is always a super fun event where we get to play without many restrictions and it’s for a great cause,” Yu said.

The band played several stand tunes such as Dance to the Music and Land of A Thousand Dances. Additionally, they played a small segment of music from last seasons show, Stratosphere Above the Clouds.

“This event is a really fun way to get back together with my marching band family after several months after the season ended,” Chase said.
