Mira Costa’s swim team compete in the Bay League Championship preliminaries at home on Tuesday against Peninsula High School, Palos Verdes High School, and Redondo Union High School.

Top performers included freshman Riley Farrell who placed first in the 200 individual medley, finishing at 2:13.85. Senior Ian Campbell placed first in the 50 freestyle, coming in at 22.83. According to freshman Alexandra Crisera, winning definitely seems possible and likely.

“We had a really good showing in prelims yesterday,” Crisera said. “We have so many people coming back to swim finals on Thursday which is great.”

The girls are currently undefeated at 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Bay League, while the boys are 5-2 overall and 2-1 in Bay League. The Bay League Finals are on Thursday at home at 2 p.m. According to senior Sydney Hong, the Mustangs have many swimmers in the top heat going into finals.
“I think we will score many points and hopefully win Bay League overall,” Hong said.
