Senior singles player Alex Gaal and doubles partners senior Jeremy Chung and sophomore Evan Fortier competed as individuals in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) on Thursday at Carpinteria.

Doubles partners Chung and Fortier won both of their matches in doubles with scores of 6-0 and 6-2, and Gaal won one out of his two matches in singles. According to Fortier, everyone played well and tried to play aggressively.

“My partner and I played extremely well,” Fortier said. “We played aggressively but made a few errors.”

The Mustangs ended their season with a loss in the CIF quarterfinals against Corona del Mar earlier this month, and finished their season winning Bay League at 21-2 overall. According to Fortier, the team enjoyed this season and played well.

“During our matches today, everyone served and returned very well and tried to play aggressively to win against our opponents,” Fortier said.
