The Mira Costa girls’ tennis team lost to top Bay League Palos Verdes 10-8 on the road. The loss moves the girls to 9-5 on the season and 3-2 in Bay League.
The game was delayed by an extra day because of the rain. Sophomore Maegan Manasse continued her undefeated season, improving to 39-0 on the year and leading the Mustangs in matches won. Senior Taylor Mahr added two match wins with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
Senior Laura Derian and sophomore Hanna McGuire led the Mustangs as the top doubles tandem. They won two of their three matches, scores 6-2 and 7-6 in a tiebreaker.
The girl’s will rebound on Oct. 26, when Mira Costa hosts West Torrance at 3:00 p.m.
