The Mira Costa girls volleyball team defeated rival Redondo Union Sea Hawks in an away game Oct. 20. Costa swept the Sea Hawks on their own court, an outcome which was contrary to what some expected due to Redondo’s recent success.
There was high energy on the court and each game was very close. The Mustangs pulled off their three-game victory with of scores 25-22, 26-24, and 25-23. Costa’s record now stands at 14-6 for the season and 4-0 in the Bay League.
Notable contributions came from nearly all of Costa’s players, particularly senior outside hitter Emma White, who several kills.
Costa will be playing again Oct. 22 against Palos Verdes High School at home at 5:15 p.m.
