Mira Costa’s girls tennis fell to Dana Hills High School, 12-6, on Wednesday in an away game. Despite a top performance by senior Amy Gaal, the Mustangs were unable to pull out a win.
A loss left hopes of a perfect season behind; however Gaal won all but one of her sets against a solid Dana Hills team. According to junior Maya Serota, everyone played her best and although the team lost, each girl gave it all she had.
“We all played very tough today and wanted it really bad,” Serota said. “Although we lost I am still happy with how we all performed.”
Costa, now 3-1 overall, will take on South Torrance on Thursday at home. According to Serota, the team will come out ready to play and get the win.
“Although today’s loss was tough we have to look past this,” Serota said. “We are looking forward for our game tomorrow and will do our best to get a Costa win.”
