Mira Costa’s boys water polo team crushed West Torrance High School 19-0, on Monday at home with top performances by sophomore driver Chris Agliozzo and junior attacker Alex Nahabed.
After losing all three games Sunday in the America’s Finest City (AFC) tournament in San Diego, the Mustangs bounced back with a blowout victory. According to senior defender Ty Panitz, Costa played really well.
“We played great all around,” Panitz said. “We made crisp passes, and created plenty of turnovers defensively.”
Costa, now 7-3 overall, will take on Foothill High School in a crucial Bay League game on Friday at home. According to Panitz, the team needs to play together to be successful.
“To be successful, we need play together as a team, and be a part of one offense, not six different offenses,” Panitz said.
