Mira Costa’s boys water polo team defeated Peninsula High School 13-5 on Thursday at home with a top performance by sophomore driver Chris Agliozzo.

After getting off to a slow start, the Mustangs rebounded back and scoring 6 unanswered, two of the goals from Agliozzo. According to sophomore attacker Colin Le, Costa played solid overall.

“We played as a team, and played strong offensively and defensively,” Le said. We gave plenty of effort, and it paid off.”

Costa, now 9-5 overall, will play in the South Bay Tournament this weekend. According to Le, the team needs to focus one game at a time to be successful.

“To be successful, we can’t overlook any games, and need to focus on one game, not look ahead,” Le said.
