Girls volleyball defeats Palos Verdes 3-0

Mira Costa’s girls volleyball team defeated Palos Verdes High School 3-0 on Thursday at Palos Verdes. The top performers were junior libero Kelli Barry, sophomore setter Malea Stanton, and senior outside hitter Hannah Scott.

The Mustangs was able to beat beat Palos Verdes in three games, 25-14, 25-10, and 25-20. Costa played very aggressive on offense and played consistent throughout the three games according to to senior outside hitter Amanda Montag.

“We did a really good job offensively and we put the ball away whenever we got the chance,” Scott said.

Costa, now 6-1 in Bay League and 20-7 overall, will play against Inglewood at home on Tuesday. According to Scott, Inglewood will be a fun team to play and it gives the team a chance to play positions that don’t normally play.

“The importance of the Inglewood game is it will prepare us for Santa Barbara next weekend which will be a tough tournament,” Montag said.
