Mira Costa’s girls tennis team defeated Santa Barbara High School 14-4, in an away match Saturday at Santa Barbara High School in Santa Barbara, led by senior Amy Gaal.
Gaal led the team to victory winning her singles match 6-0. She was backed up by senior Lena Nagy who won her singles match 6-4. According to Gaal, the team played consistently well throughout the day.
“All the girls played very well today,” Gaal said. “Everyone was serving, rallying, and hitting very well and the results obviously show that.”
Costa, now 12-4 in bay league, will take on Dos Pueblos on Saturday at Dos Pueblos High School. According to Gaal, the team needs to work on not giving up easy points and remain focused throughout the whole match.
“As a team we need to work on not giving the other team easy points,” Gaal said. “In our next game today we are going to work on staying focused throughout the entire match .”
