Emily Austin definitely defines celebrity status on Costa’s campus for 14 years old because of her experience in acting, singing, and modeling.
Emily Austin takes part in modeling, acting, and singing in many places in California and with many different companies. She started all of these jobs when she was around 7 years old. Austin knew that from the start she had a passionate feeling for the arts. She started singing when she was at a young age at a music school that set up performances in the South Bay at venues such as coffee shops
“ I have always had a love for music. Eventually, music lead me to singing.” Freshmen Emily Austin said. “ From there, music sparked my interest in acting because they both go hand and hand.”
Austin started singing when she was 7 years old at a music school that set up performances in the South Bay at venues such as coffee shops. She later started writing and recording her own music when she was around 11 years old. After she got into singing, she received many other jobs, she said. She was later signed with Paloma Model and Talent, Pure Talent, Cinda Snow Management, and LB Talent.
“I feel like I can always express myself through singing.” Austin said. “It’s something I have always been passionate about and I can count on being successful most of the time.”
Once Austin got into singing, it lead her to acting. Early on in her career, Austin aimed to get signed by as many agencies as she could, knowing the little knowledge she had of what to do to farther her career, she said.
“Doing acting allows me to step into other people’s shoes.” Austin said. “ I really like experiencing different roles.”
Austin’s modeling career didn’t take off till later in her life. She did not initially try get into the model industry, but she later discovered that if you do one thing in the entertainment industry, the others seem to fade in. Austin did her first Disney print ad when she was eight and at eleven, she modeled for a Burlington coat factory ad.
“Modeling really brings out my inner confidence and also seeing all the clothes.” Austin said. “I also really enjoy the whole make up experience before the shoot.”

As for her acting career, Austin has done various different short films and student films. And for modeling, to this day, she models for VIPme, LF Parchment, Disney hotel ads, and has walked the runway for Ella Drane,and soon to model for Urban Outfitters. LF and Urban Outfitters are companies that have lifestyle and bohemian style clothes.

“ Walking down the runway made me feel a lot of emotions.” Austin said.”It was nerve-racking, but I loved the feeling of being free. Overall, I enjoy the feeling.”
In the future, Austin plans to become a successful in music and try to stay true to the type of music she wants to make. She also wants to farther her career in modeling and acting, but music is her main priority.
“Sometimes being in acting/modeling/singing and going to a public school at the same time can be kind of rough.” Austin said. “You are putting yourself out there and you have to know who’s supportive and who’s going to talk negatively.”
