Girls Tennis defeats Redondo 17-4

Mira Costa’s girls tennis team defeated Redondo Union High School 17-4 on Monday at home in the team’s final regular Bay League match with a top performance from senior Lena Nagy.

Nagy led the team to victory winning all of her singles matches 6-0. She was backed up by senior Amy Gaal who only played one game but won 6-2.  According to Nagy, she played very well and is very happy that the team was able to end the season on a solid win at home.   

“I had a very strong performance today,” Nagy said. “Also the whole team played very well and i’m happy we were able to get this last win at home.”

Costa, 14-5 overall, will now go on to compete in the Bay League Individuals and the California Interscholastic Federation to complete their season. According to Nagy, the team is looking strong heading into CIF and are going to continue to practice hard till they get there.

“Today’s win was very exciting and we hope that we can carry it over into CIF,” Nagy said.  “As well we are going to continue to work and practice hard.”
