Mira Costa’s boys basketball team fell to West Torrance 47-62 in a home game during the Pacific Shores Tournament on Thursday. The top players were senior guard Ryan White and junior shooting guard Morgan Clark.
Costa fell behind quickly in the first quarter 14-0 but were able to catch back up by the end of the half. West Torrance slowly gain the lead in the second half, until they ultimately won in the end.
“We played well but weren’t able to get ahead and the game slipped away at the end,” Clark said.
The Mustangs, now 2-1 overall, next play an undetermined team in the Pacific Shores Tournament at home on Saturday. According to White, the team needs to bounce back and be focused during the game.
“We have to start with motivation and keep it going through the whole game,” senior power forward Cameron Steen said.
