Mira Costa’s boys basketball team fell to Carson High School 55-51 in a home game during the Pacific Shores Tournament on Saturday. The top player was senior guard Ryan White.
Costa was barely up 30-29 in the end of the first half but Carson ultimately won 55-51. According to senior power forward Cameron Steen, Costa was up most of the time but the lead switched near the end and it was pretty close at the end.
As a team we really struggled to shoot the three point shot and our half court press wasn’t working well,” senior guard Jackson Weaver said.
The Mustangs, now 2-2 overall, next play Hawthorne during the El Segundo Tournament in an away game on Monday. According to junior shooting guard Morgan Clark, the game should go well if the team puts the last two teams behind them and works together.
“We’ll definitely be looking to bounce back in our game Monday and get back winning games,” Weaver said.
